The Rhythm Series was what Marina Abramovic started her performance career with. Each one of those performances was about confronting pain, blood, and physical limits of the body. This Rhythm Zero was the last in this series, and also most challenging. She was called a "Madonna, mother, and whore" after 6 hours of her performance. Its said that she was so committed to the piece that she would not have resisted rape or murder.
